Liam Carberry, Liam Carberry Financial Planning

Liam Carberry is a long-standing member of PIBA and was actively involved as a Director of the PIBA committee between 2002 and 2008. Liam held the position of Vice President and Chairman of PIBA during that time. Liam was re-elected to the committee at the AGM in May 2009. At the AGM in 2012, Liam was again elected as PIBA Chairman.
Liam began his career in the insurance industry 20 years ago when he served as a tied agent with Friends First. In 2000, Liam established Liam Carberry Financial Planning in Sutton, Co. Dublin. Liam sat on the Financial Services Consultative Industry Panel from 2004 to 2008. Liam currently sits on the board of the PSAB-GI.
Liam is a member of the Irish National Taekwondo Association (ITF) and holds black belt status. He is also coach to the Irish national team, who won 13 medals in the European Championships which took place in May 2009 in Spain.

Peter Breen, Signature Wealth Management Ltd.

Peter Breen has spent sixteen years working in financial services. He previously worked with Irish Nationwide Building Society, Ulster Bank and a number of leading intermediary firms in Ireland before setting up his own wealth management business, Signature Wealth Managers.
He holds the QFA and a range of qualifications in the areas of accounting, finance, taxation, life assurance, pensions and mortgages.
Peter was elected to the Main Committee in May 2010 as a Director.
Originally from Waterford, Peter is married & lives in Dundrum. He has a keen interest in sports including Soccer, hurling and golf.

Donal Milmo-Penny, Mylife.ie
Dublin 2
Donal co-founded Mylife.ie in 2007. He is a Qualified Financial Adviser, a Fellow of the Life Insurance Association and a member of the Institute of Bankers in Ireland. He is currently completing a post Graduate Diploma in Financial Planning through UCD’s School of Professional Finance.
Donal was appointed editor of the PIBA quarterly magazine in 2010, to which he also is a regular contributor. Donal joined the board of PIBA in May 2011.
Donal is a keen sports enthusiast with a particular interest in rugby. He is a playing member of Bective Rangers F.C. where he is also a member of the Executive Committee and has served the club in several high level functions. He is married to Judy and has two children.
Maurice Harnett, Fitzgerald and Harnett
Glasnevin, Dublin 9
Maurice Harnett started his career in the industry in 1974. He worked in Phoenix Assurance Co. as a Senior Underwriter. Following this he held the position of Senior Accounts Manager in McDowell Insurance Brokers. Maurice joined up with Derek Fitzgerald to form a new Brokerage (Fitzgerald and Harnett) in 1987.
Maurice joined the PIBA committee in May 2008. Maurice is originally from Glasnevin. He enjoys golf and is a member of Skerries Golf club.
Philip Brennan, PM Brennan Life Assurance Consultants Ltd.
Rathfarham, Dublin
Philip is the chief executive of PM Brennan Life Assurance Consultants Ltd. He started his career working with Hibernian General Insurance before moving on to hold positions with Commercial Union in Australia and in commercial broking in the UK. He returned to Ireland in the early 1990s and joined the family firm, a composite life and general brokerage, becoming chief executive in 2004.
He is a member of both the Life Insurance Association and the Chartered Insurance Institute, holding both the QFA designation and ACII – Associateship of the Chartered Insurance Institute and in 2002 was awarded the title Chartered Insurance Broker.
Philip was appointed to the PIBA committee in 2010.
Out of business hours, Philip is very active in the outdoor world, being actively involved in mountaineering, orienteering, cycling and athletics. His hobbies frequently take him overseas, climbing in the Greater Ranges on several continents and competing in orienteering events in various European countries. He is a founding member of the DMI – Dublin Mountains Initiative, a recreational lobby group working to improve the facilities for outdoor enthusiasts in the Dublin Hills.
Philip is married with three children and lives in Rathfarnham, Dublin.
Kevin Meehan, BCK Wealth Management Ltd

Kevin is Managing Director of BCK Wealth Management, a company he set up in 2004. He started his career in General Insurance in 1991 with Eagle Star before moving to the life industry in 1996 with New Ireland Assurance. He then moved to Canada Life where he was a Broker Manager. In 2004 he set up BCK Wealth Management in conjunction with the partners of an established accountancy firm.
Kevin is a Fellow of the Life Insurance Association and is a qualifying member of MDRT. He joined the main PIBA committee in 2010.
Kevin is married to Lynn and they have 4 children. He is a keen sports fan and played Gaelic Football and Hurling and still plays 5-a-side soccer and Golf.
Dixie Collins, Collins Naughton Financial Services Ltd
Ovens, Co. Cork
Dixie is Managing Director of Collins Naughton Financial Services Ltd. based in Ballincollig, Co. Cork. The business provides a broad range of financial services to its corporate and private clients.
Dixie started his financial services career with New Ireland where he worked for 11 years in direct sales. He then joined a local indigenous Broking firm where he held senior management positions with the company over the following 14 years including his appointment as a director of the firm in 2000. During that time he was involved in various sectors of the financial services market including General Insurance, Life & Pensions, Wealth Management and Mortgages. He set up his current Business with his two business partners in 2007.
Dixie was nominated and elected to the PIBA Main Committee in May 2010
He is an avid follower of all sports but would have a particular interest in local / National GAA and Rugby. He plays Golf as often as possible. He also enjoys Hill walking & Cycling. He is a member of a local Amateur Dramatics Group and has been involved in many of their productions over the years. He also has a keen interest in all types of Music and has taken part in many local musical productions. Dixie is married to Siobhan and they have three children.
Dixie believes that there is, now more than ever, a need for strong honest financial advice which can be provided by local Financial Brokers.
John Hogan, Financial Broker, Dublin
John is a Financial Broker based in Clare Street in Dublin for over 20 years having previously worked with Eagle Star (Zurich) and Prudential.
He served on the PIBA Committee for many years and was the founding editor of the Broker Magazine, chair of the Legislation Committee and secretary of PIBA.
He served as a member of the department of Finance Morrogh working group which highlighted certain important issues in relation to investor compensation arrangements and the management of liquidations / receiverships in the event of the failure of an investment firm.
John is a Business Graduate from Trinity College Dublin and of Personnel Management from the National College of Ireland. He is a member of the Life Insurance Association and the Insurance Institute of Ireland. John has served in the past as Dublin Chairperson of the LIA. He holds the QFA Dip and is a fellow of the Life Insurance Association.

Rodney Croly
Rodney Coly is Managing Director of R. J. Croly & Co. Ltd. a composite life and general brokerage that was established in 1984. Rodney has been a member of PIBA since 1997.
Rodney started his career in Friends First in 1972 before moving to National Mutual, initially as an inspector and finally as manager of broker /direct sales force. Rodney is a member of both the LIA and the Insurance Institute and holds the designations of QFA and FLIA.
Rodney served on the General Insurance sub-committee for a number of years prior to been elected to the main PIBA Committee in May 2012.
Rodney’s wife Sylvia is a director of and holds an active role at R. J. Croly & Co. Ltd. Rodney has a keen interest in aviation industry and has held professional pilots licences. He is also involved in church activities and has held a number of leadership roles. Rodney is a member of the Dun Laoghaire Royal Irish Yacht Club and enjoys summer holidays spent sailing and hill walking and skiing during the winter months.
